The Candy Bar has only been open for a few months, but we’ve already noticed some… strange things. Candy jars rattling on their own. A faint whiff of popcorn when none’s been made. A soft hum of music when the shop is silent.
While fixing an old leaky pipe in the basement this past week,, we found a dusty photo tucked behind a loose brick — a young woman in an apron, standing proudly outside the theatre. After a bit of digging, we discovered her name: Maggie Doyle. She worked the concession stand in the 1940s, and locals say she had a sharp wit, a love of sweets, and a knack for slipping into places she shouldn’t.
Now we’re starting to believe Maggie never left. Maybe she’s taken a liking to The Candy Bar — after all, this was her domain once. So if you feel a chill or hear a faint whisper when you walk in, don’t worry… it’s just Maggie keeping watch.
